The Biggest Mystery
So yesterday morning, I told Gem to take off her pull-up, go potty, and go get some big girl underwear. She did and then she came into her room and I helped her get dressed. It crossed my mind that she only brought her pajama top with her. I thought to myself I need to go get her dirty pull-up and pajama bottoms out of the bathroom later. Well, I didn't have the time right then I needed to go feed Levi, and then I had to get ready to do some canning. Needless to say I didn't even come back upstairs until bedtime, so when we went to get Gem's pajamas on we can't find them anywhere. Somewhere in my upstairs, Gem deposited a a pair of tinkerbell pajama bottoms with a dirty pull-up in them. My house isn't big, there aren't places to hide things. It blows my mind!

Here is Tyler and Levi at the bowling alley. We were celebrating our neighbors birthday. It was tons of fun. And I don't want to brag, but I bowled 110. Can you believe that. I think I must never go bowling again, because I will never achieve such an amazing score ever again.
Levi has gotten pretty good at rolling over. By pretty good I mean he does it all the time, and doesn't understand it at all. He is utterly amazed every time. So here he is just before he rolls over. . .
And here he is just after he rolls over. So since he rolled over I went to get the video camera. But he instinctively knows not to roll over when I have that camera out, so I have yet to get it on film. But I have many many minutes of waiting for him to roll over on film.

I am running out of title names
So to start off, Happy Birthday to Levi! He was one month old on Thursday. We didn't do anything to celebrate, but I am sure that he had one of the best days of his life. I would say it was at least in the top thirty of his best days ever.
So for some reason we think our baby is much bigger than he actually is. He tricks us because he can hold his head up so well. Tyler and I thought "wow he is almost ready for his toys, and his jumper". But we neglected to remember that you also have to be able to hold up your body, and be slightly taller. Oh well, we tried. You can see the results, obviously he is much smaller than we thought.
Last weekend we went to a pool birthday party. Don't worry it was at least fifty degrees outside. (Actually the pool was heated). Anyway above we have Gem enjoying the party, and below is Levi enjoying the party.

Gem Videos
The other night Gem decided she was going to dance on her table. This was so incredibly out of character for her, I had to catch it on video.
Check out the lip action while she sings the abc's.

Air Show
I remember there was a time when Gem was a baby. And I was incredibly bored and I thought babies were so boring and lame. Well, how times have changed. Boring is so nice, I would love boring. I love my boring baby, when he is unhappy I just feed him and wrap him up in a blanket and he is happy again. If only the rest of the members of our household were so easy to please.
We went to the air show on Saturday at Point Magu. It was really neat, though I was in charge of a baby, and Tyler was in charge of Gem. And neither of them were even remotely interested in planes. Oh well. Tyler thinks I look like a refugee in this picture on the right. I don't think there are very many refugees with sunglasses, purple shoes, a stroller, etc. The coolest thing we saw at the air show was a guy named Chuck Aaron. He has the only helicopter in the world that can do loop de loops and other crazy stunts. (Dad if you click on his name up there you can watch a few minutes of one of his shows. It was crazy amazing in real life.)
Here we have Gem playing that she is an airplane. We were only there for a couple hours, but poor Tyler got way sunburned. His forehead was all shiny and bright red the next day for church. Of course he was conducting so I gave him some of my powder to make his face look less like a tomato, it only helped a little.
This is Gem being very impatient waiting for the Thunderbirds to start up. I thought it was pretty neat, but Gem was super bored so we actually left right after the show started :( But it was probably best because the traffic would have been horrible if we would have waited til the show was over, and it was really loud for a three week old baby.

A Great Day. Plus some cute Pictures
Well today has been a great day. Which is good because the last two or three have basically been heck on earth. I won't tell you about the last few days. But I will list off a few of the momentous things that happened in the past twenty four hours.
1. Last night Levi went to bed at 10:00, and didn't wake up until 4:30. For those of you who need help with the math, that is six and a half glorious hours.
2. This morning of her own free will and choice, Gem has gone and used the bathroom multiple times now. Though I did just clean up a pretty messy number two, hopefully I made it uncomfy enough for Gem that tomorrow she will try it in the potty.
3. This morning Levi used his massive arm strength to roll over from his tummy to his back twice. I realize he will never do it again, because he wasn't doing it on purpose, but I was still quite pleased.
Anyway these pictures are from our trip to Utah. Grandma wanted some pictures of all three grandkids so we took them to the temple. And it actually worked out well, we did get some cute shots.

At the temple
My sister got married at the Logan temple. Gem was so excited to wear her pretty purple dress and see Kim "a get a marry at a temple". She had been talking about it for weeks. She waited outside with her uncles, her little brother, and my little four year old cousin. Everything went perfect. It was a great morning.

Joys of Motherhood
Today I sat down to peacefully feed Levi his bottle. But everything didn't turn out that peaceful.
Once I started feeding him, he peed all over his shirt. (His one talent is peeing up out of his diaper.) "Well, that is fine," I thought, "I will change his clothes when he is done eating." After another minute or so, I see a huge fly pretty much the size of a quarter (no exaggeration)crawling up the wall. Unfortunately Gem also saw it at the same instant, and she is a little afraid of bugs, so she was quite concerned that I needed to dispose of the bug. Well Levi was still only halfway done with his bottle but I decided I needed to rescue Gem. I set Levi down on his blanket and got a snack cup and trapped the fly in the cup and deposited him safely outside. As I walked back in the door, I saw the huge wet spot on the couch where Gem had been sitting. Oh man!! I realized I hadn't changed her diaper since breakfast time. So I changed Gem's pants and febreezed the couch. All the while Levi was patiently waiting on his blanket, for the rest of his bottle, in his soaking wet shirt. So after Gem was all cleaned up, I picked up the baby to calmly and peacefully feed him the rest of his bottle. The bottle had not been in his mouth even thirty seconds when he thoroughly messed his pants. Oh well, I guess I signed up for this job.

Home Again
I promise I am going to post all the fabulous pictures and footage from our trip to Utah. It just may take me a few days. We got back in town on Saturday, and after being gone for a week and a half, I have too much to do. Plus it now takes me a third longer to take care of the family, so my free time has gone down a little. (which is probably for the best).
Levi went to the doctor yesterday and he weighed eight pounds seven ounces, which means he has gained half a pound in two weeks. He is big! I put him on his tummy last night, and he lifts his head up so high it makes him look like a little turtle. Also he scoots his little legs underneath him and it looks like he is trying to crawl already.
Gem is as fun as ever. Any word that comes out of my mouth she replies by saying "AAHHHH". But yesterday we only had one major meltdown, which I thought was pretty good. Last night while Levi was napping, and Tyler was with the scouts I had a mini FHE with Gem, and it went surprisingly well. We sang lots of songs, had a mini lesson, and then she talked and sang for the video camera.
Anyway I promise before the week is out I will post the best pictures from our trip.
