Where is Thumbkin?

It is apparent in this video that Gem learned her thumb skills from the best.

Family Home Evening

During family home evening this month we have been practicing being reverent. We would look at a picture of a family being reverent at church, we would sing reverent songs, and practice talking and walking reverently.

So this week we had a quiz. Gem passed with 100%. The quiz had two questions. First we asked can you be reverent? Gem folded her arms and bowed her head. Then we asked where are you reverent? "Prayers!" Where else are you reverent? "Church!" So it only took us a month but we taught her what reverent was now if only we could actually get her to do it at church and not just in family home evening.

Here I have a video of Gem singing her second favorite song "I am a Child of God". Her first favorite song is the Ariel song.

Finally the below video is our recap at the end of family home evening not quite as good as during the quiz at the start but still blog worthy I guess.

Disneyland Again

Alright I haven't posted for a while, don't be mad at me. I have been a little busy. But I promise I will do better.
Anyway because we bought season passes to Disneyland we thought we should use them. So I realize we have already done a Disneyland post I just thought you might like a couple of these pictures.
We have Gem in the car on the way to Disneyland with her two favorite toys.
Next Gem and I by Pooh's "house" posing by the honey pots.
Finally the lights at Small World, a picture doesn't do it justice, it looked pretty awesome.
We did one fun thing we stayed for the Christmas parade. I was nervous that Gem was going to be bored with it. But once it started she was mesmerized. Pretty fun!

pop 'alloons

This is just a little snippet of one of Gem's favorite activities. What she call "pop 'alloons". It is actually a Winnie the Pooh computer game and all she has to do is press any button on the keyboard and a balloon on the screen pops. I know it doesn't sound very exciting, but I guess for a two year old, it is a party.

Caught on Tape

Gem actually does do some cute things, I have managed to capture two on tape. The first is what I like to call the eyebrow nod, and the second is "help, please", which she says at least a hundred million times per day.

Scribbles

Gem is quite the artist. She spends a lot of time scribbling. Unfortunately she doesn't always scribble where she is supposed to. If I am in the room with her, she is always very good to only scribble on approved surfaces (paper for example). However, when I am not with her, constantly reminding her, she often forgets on what it is OK to scribble. In fact she colored on a library book, so we went to the library to confess, and while we were waiting at the desk she stole the library's pen and started drawing on their paper. She is addicted. Anyway I thought I would attempt to leave you with some idea of the extant of her issues by giving you a partial list of some of the things in our house that have been scribbled:
The Kitchen Chair, Pumpkins on the Patio, the TV, her princess book, the primary songbook, our Christ Statue, her Winnie the Pooh, her Tea Set, the Patio Swing, her slide, our television speakers, the Satellite Box, my nightstand, Tyler's chess board, her Rocking Horse, her Bookshelf, her CD Player, her Toy Baskets.
And this is just a quick list. I have turned my life over to the scribble monster.

DISNEYLAND!!!

Well Halloween finally came and we finally got to go to Disneyland. We had a blast, riding almost ever single ride you can ride (well as many as someone 36 inches can ride). We've posted some photos of highlights from our day.

We began and ended the day at the Carousel.
Of all the rides, I think Gem liked the Carousel the best.

Gem and daddy got to ride on the Dumbo ride. Probably the longest line that we waited in all day. Good thing it was one of the first rides. I personally think there are some rides that no grown-up should be allowed to ride without someone under 10 accompanying then. Maybe that would help keep the lines to a minimum.

Gem also like the bumper "bugs".
I let her drive, and she laughed and laughed.
This is a view from in the Ferris wheel. I feel this is the scariest of the scary rides, much more scary than any roller coaster could ever be. Gem didn't seem scared at all.

Luckily Gem took a nap. If she hadn't,
we would have never been able to stay so late.
Gem and I going up the hill on the "roller coaster" in toon town. She was really excited to ride a roller coaster until it started going fast. But at the end she said she liked it.

Finally it was time to go but we rode the Carousel one more time.
