Friday Afternoon

Friday afternoon we had a nice time here in the Ross house. It was a tropical forty degrees here so we decided it was high time we went for a walk.

We are indebted to Joy who gave us their double stroller, which allowed Tyler to push both children leaving me free to keep my hands in my pockets.

I think the kids enjoyed it, though you wouldn't be able to tell from Levi's face.

After our walk adventures, Tyler and I both had things we wanted to accomplish.

My project started out as a plain-Jane apron but after a little Sharpie power turned into some hot stuff (If I do say so myself). Now I just need to remember to wear it when I am baking.

Tyler wanted to document his pride and joy (LEGOS) before he disassembled them to prepare for a new big Lego project. (It's top secret so don't even ask)
He needed somewhere to store all the pieces so he used some of our box supply to form this fabulous Lego containers collection. He calculated he had over 8,000 pieces, which I feel is adequate but will never fulfill his Lego needs.

Baby Name

So Tyler and I have talked about it, and we have two finalists for our new girl's name. June or Hazel. I realize that neither of these names are the ones we talked about in the last post, sorry. I think June is fun, and she will be born in June. I like the ring of Hazel better, however Tyler was leaning towards June.

Input?

Finally

Well it has been weeks but we finally have the internet. I am part of the world once again, though I did get some good stuff done while I didn't have the internet, but I missed it very much. Especially we were missing our Netflix streaming, it had been probably over a month since we had watched any Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and we were at our wit's end but we finally got our fix last night.

So to have a short update on everyone.

Tyler:

He is working from his new office in our basement, and I think he likes it. He has already built hundreds of his lego sets (it only feels like it), and is now just waiting for a shelf to put them on. He has also shown me which lego pirate boat he wants for his birthday (only $180 if any wants to chip in :) )

He likes to act like we have a yard already and he goes outside and stomps around in the mud, protecting our window wells from water drainage, and he did bury our mailbox so it would stop tipping over.

Me:

I have gotten the house in order, and maybe if you're lucky I'll post some pictures next week. Since I have been disconnected from the world I have been rather crafty. I made curtains for Gem's room and the basement. Though neither of my curtains look near as good as the window topper my grandma made for Levi's room. (Again I'll try to post pictures next week). I also made a wrap skirt which was a success in that is looks semi-cute, but a failure in that I didn't put the buttons in the right place so I have to safety pin it on instead of using the buttons. Also I am almost done with an elastic skirt that sort of flairs out, it looks good so far, and if the finished product is as good as the half way done product I'll post a picture when I am done.

I have also gone to play basketball at the church with the women twice now. It is a little disconcerting to be with all those women who are very in shape and work out like four times a day, but it is nice to know, that I am as good as them at basketball. Though I feel like I have been run over by an elephant.

Gem:

She likes our new house, and she is still just as obstinate as every. Though we have enlisted some rules, prizes, and scriptures to help us on the adult side. She is doing better everyday as we stick to our routine.

When we first moved in it was pretty snowy, and she would go outside and help Tyler shovel the driveway (see video).

She is doing really well in primary (as far as I know), and she comes home singing a new song every week. One Sunday I think she didn't stop singing "Do as I Doing" until she went to bed, unfortunately the only line she knew was "Do as I Doing". She still likes to change the words to familiar tunes, (a la her uncle Nathan), and she often sings "Follow the Baby" to the tune of "Follow the Prophet". We think she is learning useful things in primary too because the other day she asked Tyler if her ghost beanie baby (see picture) was the Holy Ghost.

Levi:

He is six months old officially, and I need to get some pictures of him, I don't think I have taken any pictures of him in the last two months which is unfortunate because he is adorable.

Not only is he adorable he is also large, at his six month appointment he weighed in at just short of twenty two pounds, and his height was off the growth chart. For those who are worried about Tyler's child, don't worry his head is in the nice normal fiftieth percentile range.

He is semi mobile now in that he rolls around and around basically at random, but he does cross the room this way. Because I didn't have any pictures of him I posted this video of him jumping.

New Baby:

Our new baby is almost half way cooked now, and we found out it is a little girl! If you know any cute short girl names send them my way. We are thinking Jade, Joy, or May, but I am not absolutely in love with any of them yet, and would be happy to find something else.
