Family Home Evening

\
As you can imagine around here Family Home Evening is a little crazy and very short, usually fifteen minutes or less even doing five opening songs (we each pick one) .  Usually we try to switch off who the lessons are geared towards.  This was a June lesson, we were just trying to sing some songs with her, and get her to do actions.  She really has fun copying people.  I thought the video above was funny because you can see how crazy it is to get two toddlers and Gem to do anything.  You can watch for me asking Levi what song he wants to sing, right now he always wants to sing "I Love to See the Temple", then in the same breath he says he wants to see Tyler (his uncle).  Basically he says that a hundred times a day, so it was good to capture that on film.

K, in this video, don't listen to my awkward singing, but do watch for Levi hitting himself in the face while we sing "Wheels on the Bus".  Then you can watch how Levi changes his mind over and over, that is the story of my life right now, and it can get really aggravating.

Finally Gem is turning into quite the little pianist.

Boring Video

It only happens once in a blue moon, but sometimes our kids do play nicely together.

How cute am I?

A couple of days ago, Gem got dressed and came and asked Tyler "How cute am I?"  Of course Tyler told her she was really cute.

The next day she was in her pajamas and she asked him again, "How cute am I?".  Tyler said, "Not as cute as yesterday."

Then she disappeared for a little while and came out of her room wearing the exact same clothes as the day before.   I suppose it is vital to be at your maximum cuteness.

Playing in the Snow

OK neither of these pictures show anyone actually playing in the snow.  But a major part of playing in the snow is the 45 minutes it takes to get everyone dressed.

Halloween

Gem got to wear her costume to school for Halloween.  She wanted to be Pinky Pie from My Little Pony.  So I made a "cutie mark" for her and a mane and a tail.  I probably spent less than five bucks on it, and it didn't turn out half bad.
The babies and I went to Gem's school to see the "costume parade".  It was pretty hilarious because all the moms were waving at the kindergartners and first graders, but they (the kids) were trying so hard not to make eye contact and just walk by as fast as they could.  They were probably all thinking "why are they torturing us like this".  June and Levi had fun waving at the kids, though.

We found a sweat shirt for Levi to be Mickey Mouse, it even has little ears on the hood (just take my word for it).  I like this costume because now it can just be a jacket.  Can you tell that I have issues about spending money on something that will only be used once?  Maybe that makes me a bad mom :)  To cap off our cheap Halloween, we used a costume from when I was a kid for baby June.

I was surprised that June just took it in stride being a bunny rabbit, she didn't even care that she had this weird hat on.  I think they all enjoyed the "trunk or treat" at the church.  I was really surprised how many kids there were.  I ran out of candy, so next year I will know to bring more.

Levi of course had fun stuffing his face.  So I guess it was a successful Halloween.
