Hogle Zoo

We had such a blast going to the zoo when Tyler was in Arizona.  We got to go with one of my best friends from high school and her two little ones, also my sister came along for some much needed grown up help.

Gem had a lot of fun riding the turtle on the carousel, but Levi was a little nervous even until it started moving, only until about halfway through the ride did he decide it was fun.

Here is June enjoying some string cheese, she is pretty happy all the time.   She did great the whole time.

Gem and Levi also enjoyed their lunches.  Gem wanted to see the giraffes the whole time, so I guess that was her favorite thing.  Levi was pretty skeptical about everything, he wasn't too sure what we were doing, but I think he liked all the little furry animals inside the reptile house, especially a little fox that was going back and forth.
And of course we have to end with the classic gorilla picture.  Gem got it and posed for the camera, Levi was skeptical, of course, and little Cyrus wouldn't turn around to smile at us because he was too busy seeing how he measured up to the infant gorilla.

This video of a baby dancing is from almost a month ago.  I told you I have been feeling sick and obviously the blog quickly falls off the totem pole, when I can barely get my chores done each day.

The below video is from a week ago, at Gem's first t-ball game.  It is pretty funny to watch 4-year-olds run around not really knowing what they are doing.  Gem had a lot of fun though, and each day since her game she has asked me when she gets to play that game again.  Finally today I got to say it was today.

Finally I have included a couple pictures from our overnighter at the cabin.  It was pretty fun, and I think Gem and Levi loved it.  Levi especially loved how we let him wander around all over the place.  We had a fun time playing in a "Horseshoe Tournament".  Tyler and I graciously boosted everyone's self esteem, that means we lost every game we played, but we both had some good ringers.  So it was just a twist of fate that we lost all our games, except of course when we lost to my parents.  That was not a twist of fate, mom happens to be some sort of ringer machine.

This Week

This week Gem got a bicycle.  Tyler made a deal with her that if she could stop wetting the bed she could get a bike.  Well she did so we went and picked out the bike on Saturday.   She absolutely loves it and will ride around on it for hours and hours.   Last night after bedtime she came out of her room and asked if she could take her bike in her room.

June tried out some broccoli for the first time last night.  Mostly she would put it in her mouth and gum it for a while and them pull it back out again, but it's a start.
