Chinatown

One more post about our San Francisco trip, before we leave to go on our Utah trip.

On Wednesday night while we were there, Tyler and his friends from work wanted to go out to dinner. They decided to go to "The Stinking Rose" a restaurant wholly devoted to garlic. Well, I decided that was probably not the restaurant for me or for Gem, so we let them have a boys night out. Tyler while walking home passed a shop in Chinatown selling little pajama outfits, so he got a pair for Gem, for only six dollars.

Unfortunately I don't think the fabric had ever been washed before, and during the night our little sweaty girl managed to turn the pillow case and the sheets underneath her a beautiful shade of pink!

Muir Woods

Tuesday morning we had a fun time at Muir Woods. It was awesome! These were some really big trees. As you can see Gem loved them a lot too, in the picture below she is giving a redwood a hug as best she can.

At the Park

After the aquarium, we stopped at a park and let Gem get super tired, so she would nap for the rest of our drive to San Francisco. By the way she did, over three hours.

They had the most super huge, coolest side down the hill, it was a ton of little red rollers that you rolled down Gem went down fifteen or twenty times. She was so tired that at one point going up the hill she just fell down and didn't get back up.

Plus a choo choo train! Honestly this park was awesome! It had a huge plank bridge between two big hills. Two different playgrounds, the two slides you saw above plus, two big green slides, plus a hedge maze, and a rock climbing wall. We didn't play on that last one.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

We had so much fun at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We were there for over three hours. That is a long time for a 2 and a half year old. Gem's favorite part was giving the fish a "bath" in the kids play area.

Sunday Afternoon Drive

Sunday afternoon we left for a week vacation/business trip. On the way we stopped at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park along Highway 1, near Big Sur, California. We saw this beautiful waterfall that fell right on the sand.
Gem and I had a lot of fun walking through the "tunnel".

Christmas

We love Christmas. We put up our decorations on Thanksgiving. Partly because we are going to be gone for three weeks of December so I felt like our decorations were getting gypped. We decorated our tree and our railing. All the bows you see were done by Tyler because that is completely out of my range of ability. I also included a picture of our home-made stockings because they are my favorite.
