We had a pretty busy weekend around here.  Friday night we started things off by going to dinner at the ward campout.  We didn't do the campout part, but dinner and some games were fun.

Levi enjoyed eating cookies and Gem enjoyed trying to do the sack race.  She needed some help to make it to the finish line.

Saturday morning Tyler and I kind of ran a 5k.  We were beaten handily by out fathers, who both ran it in 24 minutes.  Tyler and I finished in 33 minutes, which was actually significantly better than I was expecting.

After the 5k we decided we had better keep busy and we applied some decorative vinyls on the wall in the bathroom.  I think they turned out awesome!  Pictures of bathrooms never really turn out as nice as real life.

Later that afternoon we traveled to another town and went to a friend's daughter's birthday party.  Gem really enjoyed squirting anyone who walked past the little pool.

Monday was Tyler's birthday, so to celebrate turning 30 we took the kids to the splash pad (I know it doesn't really make sense).  The kids had fun but didn't get very wet.

In the afternoon was Gem's last t-ball game.   Tyler got some action shots to help us remember this first year of t-ball.

This last picture of her running to first base with the helmet covering her eyes symbolizes the entire season.

Happy Birthday to June!

June turned one on Sunday.  I took probably 30 pictures of her right before church, trying to get a cute one-year-old picture.  These were the best I got.  Oh well. C'est la vie.

After church, probably every two minutes or so,  Gem kept asking us when we were having June's party.  I would tell her "in three hours" and she would say "that's forever!".  I think June's cupcakes turned out pretty fun, we had just enough to spell her name with them.  I will probably do the same thing for Levi's birthday, I liked how they turned out.  I think June enjoyed her cupcake and she didn't even make too big of a mess.

The next day the kids had fun playing with a outdoor table that Grandma and Grandpa Ross got for them.  We eventually moved it outside, but in the meantime they had fun having drinks and reading stories.

June is showing off one of the nice outfits she got from grandma's and grandpa's.  This green polka dot dress from great-grandma Johnson was my favorite, I think.  June didn't seem to mind it either.

Levi has turned into a little couch potato, the only thing he ever wants to do is watch Mickey Mouse on the computer.  He is now a little obsessed with Mickey Mouse,  and he was way too excited when he realized that Mickey Mouse is on his diapers.  Also when I went into the nursery on Sunday, he ran to grab the toy that had Minnie Mouse to show it to me.

In other news the family enjoyed some cauliflower for dinner last night, but it was cauliflower that we grew in the garden.  It turns out that you have to tie the cauliflower leaves over the head, so that the cauliflower doesn't change color in the sun.  You can see a small part of this cauliflower got sun burnt (It is the part that is a little brown).  The last week or so, I have been outside almost everyday tying up leaves in the garden, it's a weird hobby.

In other news June will be one year old on Sunday, and last night we were practicing going up and down the stairs.  She is getting really big.  She has become very aware of what is going on, and she is smart enough to notice when I am in the kitchen, she stands at the baby gate and cries because she wants food.   It is pretty annoying.  We are weaning off the bottle, and onto milk and cups.

In littlest baby news, I never really posted about this.  But our newest addition to our family is due on December 10th.  Yes we know we are crazy, you don't have to think it silently to yourself.

A New Low for our House

Our sweet almost 1 year old girl is pretty adorable, isn't she?  Well, actually not all the time.  After I got Gem and Levi some lunch I went to check on June and see if she was done napping and was ready for her lunch.  I started to open the door, and I could smell that June needed a diaper change.  Then I finished opening the door, and what I saw was a horror show laid out before me.  It is times like these that I am so glad that Tyler works from home.  I promptly shut the door, and yelled for Tyler to come upstairs quick.  We carefully assessed the situation from the safe distance of the doorway.  There was our sweet baby June playing in her own poo.  Let's just say she decided to undertake this task on a particularly productive day.  Apparently she had done her business and then decided to take off her diaper to investigate.  Her face had poo on it, her arms were covered in it, and she was holding poo in her clenched little fists.   The crib was smeared up and down, and the sheet and blankets were well covered also.  We decided to let the binky go.  I ran the bath water and cleaned up the baby, while my hero husband picked up all the poo pieces and cleaned up the crib.   Obviously there were no pictures taken due to the graphic nature of the incident. This was definitely the worst poo experience we have ever encountered.

After weeks and weeks of being sick and never wanting to do anything, I am finally getting back into the groove of doing stuff.  This project had been sitting around for about two months, cluttering up the sewing room.  But now it is finally done.  I have the close-up above and the final product on the wall below.  I think it turned out pretty good.

We all enjoyed going for a walk the other day.  Gem loves her new bike, and she rides it almost everyday.

June is getting bigger and bigger.  Today I left her downstairs playing with toys while I went outside to water the flowers.  Tyler found her climbing out the front door, she had gone up all the stairs by herself.
