Nonetheless, I've got a few pictures to share. First is the view from my first hotel room in Waikiki. Not bad.
I gave a presentation the next day but I couldn't leave until the next morning. I decided to try another hotel on the other side of the island. It's nice being a federal employee because the hotel room is the same price whether you're staying at the budget motel or the Marriott Waikiki.
I drove around the island and saw the Temple in Laie. It was still closed for renovation. :(
My second hotel was in Ko Olina. The room wasn't ready when I checked in so they gave me a voucher for free drinks at the pool-side bar. Oh boy... I mean..... I asked the bartender what he had that was non-alcoholic. This is what he came up with.... a guava smoothie in a frozen pineapple. Life is tough.
This is the view from my second hotel room. It's overlooking the private man-made cove owned by Marriott.
Luckily I live in a house where the other two walking, talking individuals are women..... women who love presents.
Here's Gem sporting her Hula kit. She's actually getting a bit of a groove on in this picture.
oh no! is that the evil ring's twin sister?
ReplyDeleteupon closer inspection of this ring, it looks much safer
ReplyDeletebefore reading heather's comments my first thoughts were "oh no the scratchy ring" hopefully, my grandchildren will not have multiple lacerations and scars.
ReplyDeletethat ring does look oddly suspicious....i have a scar on my finger from the last such jewelry of floral ring designature, a lasting momento of it as well as Tara, make sure to check the edges before someone else gets hurt!
ReplyDeleteI knew everyone would be very concerned about this. But don't worry all the edges are beautifully rounded and no one will ever be cut on it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way Tyler didn't know the bubbling pot of controversy he was stirring up.
ReplyDeletewell he should be informed about just how much damage can be caused by something as simple as a beautiful ring, not that I mind having a Tara momento scar now....at the time cleaning all the balls and the entire court from my own blood wasn't so much fun
