The State Fair

We went to the State Fair on Monday with grandma and grandpa.  It was a lot of fun.  First off, while the kids were being good, we looked at all the art and creative art entries.  I really enjoyed seeing all the amazing art work.  Then we looked at all the animals.  Levi loved the animals, he laughed and laughed.  He thought the sheep and the turkeys were just too funny.  June on the other hand got loudly bleated at by one sheep, and that was it, she had had enough of the weird creatures.

We lucked out that we went on the one day that the Utah Dairy Association was having the all-you-can-eat ice cream event.  Levi was in heaven as you can see from the above picture.  We had to wait in a bit of a line but it was worth it for all you can eat ice cream for two dollars.

I just really can't get Gem to look like a normal person for a picture, so as a result we put the weird ones on the internet.
June didn't really want any of the ice cream, luckily they didn't make us pay two dollars for her.  She just wanted to eat her animal cookies that I had packed along.

Below is another great picture of Gem as a cougar.  They had this in the wildlife hall.  They had displays of a bunch of different native Utah fish.  Also they had an actual bald eagle's nest which was really really big.  Behind the wildlife building they had a little stocked fish pond, but we didn't wade through that crowd to do any fish farm fishing.

Finally one building had set up some hands on exhibits for the kids.  Levi and Gem enjoyed making some huge bubbles.  And of course June watched it all from the stroller.  All in all we had a really fun time at the fair and I think we will go back next year.

  1. I love the picture where Levi has a massive spoonful of ice cream.
