It must be fall, finally

It must be Fall, finally, because we harvested a lot of potatoes.  I mean a whole lot, if you want a box of red potatoes let me know.
Also Gem, Levi, and I went to a corn maze with Kim, Tyler, and Nathan.  It was pretty fun, didn't take too long, and it was a good price.
It was weird though because usually you go to a corn maze in the dark in October so you are always freezing, but we were all just a touch too warm tromping around the maze.  I am pretty sure that everyone's favorite part was the donut at the end.

The State Fair

We went to the State Fair on Monday with grandma and grandpa.  It was a lot of fun.  First off, while the kids were being good, we looked at all the art and creative art entries.  I really enjoyed seeing all the amazing art work.  Then we looked at all the animals.  Levi loved the animals, he laughed and laughed.  He thought the sheep and the turkeys were just too funny.  June on the other hand got loudly bleated at by one sheep, and that was it, she had had enough of the weird creatures.

We lucked out that we went on the one day that the Utah Dairy Association was having the all-you-can-eat ice cream event.  Levi was in heaven as you can see from the above picture.  We had to wait in a bit of a line but it was worth it for all you can eat ice cream for two dollars.

I just really can't get Gem to look like a normal person for a picture, so as a result we put the weird ones on the internet.
June didn't really want any of the ice cream, luckily they didn't make us pay two dollars for her.  She just wanted to eat her animal cookies that I had packed along.

Below is another great picture of Gem as a cougar.  They had this in the wildlife hall.  They had displays of a bunch of different native Utah fish.  Also they had an actual bald eagle's nest which was really really big.  Behind the wildlife building they had a little stocked fish pond, but we didn't wade through that crowd to do any fish farm fishing.

Finally one building had set up some hands on exhibits for the kids.  Levi and Gem enjoyed making some huge bubbles.  And of course June watched it all from the stroller.  All in all we had a really fun time at the fair and I think we will go back next year.

Labor Day Fun

We had a pretty fun time at the cabin for Labor day.  We got to play some fun games with everyone and enjoy a little bit of being outside.

I enjoyed using my parent's nice camera and taking a bunch of pictures of the kids, and this one picture of Tyler, which he probably won't be happy that I am posting on the internet.

We also got a great shot of Nathan.

It is tricky to get good shots of Gem because she never smiles like a normal person, she always makes crazy five year old faces.  Plus all of her teeth are missing when she does smile :)

We even snagged a picture of great-grandma, grandma, and grandpa.

Tyler tried to get a cute picture with baby June, but she never is happy to be snagged into the air.

First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Gem got to go to kindergarten today, I don't know if I have ever been happier :)

Gem was a little nervous, probably because last night for family home evening we told her a bunch of rules she has to obey.  Including being quiet and not touching people, we have issues with those rules at home.

I asked her what they did at school today and she said they just talked about rules, she didn't seem to thrilled to have spent an entire day talking about rules.  But I know once they start doing stuff that she will love it.

I asked her what her favorite part of the day was, and she said she liked riding the bus the best.  I must agree, it is so nice to not have to drive her anywhere, or pack anyone up to get in the car.  Thank heavens for the bus!

Our Bipolar Son

Life can be good when you're a 2 year old boy.  Levi certainly has his ups and downs.  Here are two videos that show Levi at opposite ends of his "sugar-level spectrum".

Walking!

I am a little behind in the video department.  June can pretty much walk anywhere she wants to now (albeit slowly).  But here is a clip of when she was first figuring it out.

Baby's Room

We finally did something to liven up the baby room.  Right now June is the only one in here, but we left up the other crib for baby Luke, because we are too lazy to take it down and then set it up again in four months.
We painted ten colors on the wall.  It is pretty bright but we like it :)

Also I painted the old dresser that was looking a little down and out.  I went with blue on blue and I think it turned out pretty nice.
